Imdb Gives Favorable Apocalypto Reviews

The Internet Movie Database (imdb) has given good apocalypto reviews awarding it a 7.9 rating. The movie which is about a valiant fight of a man to protect his pregnant wife is set in the Mayan civilization. The man belongs to a peaceful tribe which is attacked by warriors who thirst for human sacrifice for their gods. The man who hides his wife and his son in a deep hole is captured and taken by the warriors as a slave but an eclipse saves his life and he sets out to save his family.
The apocalypto reviews have been good considering most of the cast has never acted before. The movie has been nominated for 3 oscars. The cast includes Gerardo Taracena, Raoul Trujillo, and Dalia Hernandez. According to the apocalypto reviews director Mel Gibson has done a good job at showing the Mayan civilization and the story is fast and gripping.
The apocalypto reviews also point out that the graphic violence and the disturbing images shown in the movie deserve the R rating but were also necessary.
The apocalypto reviews paint a good picture at the cinema collections as well. The movie had garnered almost $50,859,889 by March, 2007.
