Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez has gotten lots of attention in new movie reviews as the star of the epic French film Carlos, about the true story of the famous terrorist "Carlos the Jackal." He was up for a Golden Globe nomination for that film, and also has an upcoming role in the film Wrath of the Titans.
However, he may be headed for an even more substantial role as a villain in Zack Snyder's new take on the movie classic Superman. This is still a rumor, and it is not clear whether he has agreed to the part yet or if it is still under discussion. However, Snyder recently confirmed that Viggo Mortenson will not be playing General Zod in the movie, so it's possible that Ramirez will be stepping into that role. Ramirez will make an interesting villain choice opposite Henry Cavill, who is already on board to play Superman.
