US To Review 300,000 Deportation Cases

The US Department of Homeland Security is planning on carrying out reviews of 300,000 pending immigration cases. The reviews shall be done in a case-by-case manner. The reviews would help determine whether or not the particular case meets the specific criteria for the removal of the individual from the country.
The review policy, it is being alleged, shall shake up the US immigration system. Detractors claim that the reviews shall actually be a bypass of the congressional lawmakers, and are, thus, uncalled for.
One of the reasons for the reviews being done could be the tough policies set by Obama concerning immigrants, which, protests indicated, could cost the president a big chunk of Hispanic votes. Hence, the review method could be a way to appease that section of the American society.
